Javascript Software Engineer (Financial Services)
Lloyds Banking Group, Retail Banking
London based (hybrid working pattern, 2 days per week in office & rest from home, you can be located anywhere in the UK as long as you can commute to London those days under your own cost)
Salary & Benefits: £61,176 to £80,294 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Where to the roles sit and what does the function support?
Our role sits within Onboarding and Customer Communications, which will give you the opportunity to work in a lively dynamic team. We are at the forefront of leading the way for customers & colleagues in transforming & digitising the Lloyds Banking Group Retail Bank across mobile, branch, telephony and internet banking.
The transformation culture our team lives by is to empower its co-located teams to create dynamic environments using agile methodology, including scrum, ultimately providing outstanding customer experiences; and by driving innovative technology solutions that drive iterative change across research, buy and servicing needs to market at pace.
This is a new role due to expansion with lots of interesting work to tackle!
What would you do in the role?
A great opportunity has arisen within our team for a Front End Javascript Engineer. You'll work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our frontend client software working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.
Specifically you’ll develop new features which evolve around our savings products website, which will benefit our customers.
We operate in a modern & agile Engineering function which keeps DevOps, continuous improvement and automation at the heart of what we do.
You’ll be working in the team as a middle or senior level developer, so we’d also like you to support more junior developers in the team with coaching & mentoring.
What do we need to see evidence of in your CV?
We like to see people applying from diverse industry & cultural backgrounds. For this particular software engineering role we’ll need to see evidence of the following in your CV;
  • Experience working at a mid to senior level as a software engineer within a modern Agile engineering function.
  • Strong knowledge & experience of JavaScript + Reactjs in a commercial environment
  • Familiar with web based applications & HTML
  • Experience mentoring & developing more junior staff
  • Familiarity with server-side REST APIs and JSON
  • CI/CD/DevOps tooling experience
  • Experience working with design systems
